8 Days Kicheche Sky Experience

Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met and assisted to transfer to Emakoko. The Emakoko is a boutique lodge uniquely positioned on the edge of the Nairobi National Park. It is located a short 45 minute drive from either of Nairobi’s airports. The drive through the park itself, with its beautiful scenery and abundance of plains game is a superb way to start any East African safari. What better way to start a holiday by supporting the conservation of this unique area and in particular, by supporting the endangered Black Rhino which are prolific in this park.

The Nairobi National Park, despite its proximity to the capital city of Kenya, boasts a spectacular assortment of birds and wildlife, with over 400 species of bird recorded in one day. With an excellent possibility of spotting four of the Big Five, many Nairobi residents find the lodge a perfect antidote to the hustle and bustle of city life. By staying at The Emakoko you are directly contributing to the protection and conservation of Nairobi National Park and its wildlife.

Emakoko: 1 Night

The Emakoko is a family-run lodge built only a 45-minute transfer from both of Nairobi’s airports, allowing guests to begin and finish their holiday in nature. Nestled in the slopes of a valley on the Mbagathi River, this beautiful lodge sits on the border of Nairobi’s National Park. In this fantastic alternative to struggling through the hustle and bustle of Kenya’s capital city, guests can enjoy the natural wildlife on their way in and out of the country.

Although one of Kenya’s smaller parks, there is an abundance of wildlife species to see at The Emakoko Lodge. When guests aren’t out on game drive, the beautiful rooms of The Emakoko Lodge is a place they can call home. Five rooms are situated by the main area and a further five positioned on the cliff top enjoy spectacular views overlooking the valley.

You will transfer to the Wilson Airport for your schedule flight to OL Pejeta Conservancy, Laikipia. On arrival you will be met and assisted to check in at Kicheche Laikipia Camp - An eco-award-winning small luxurious tented camp nestled in the shadows of Mount Kenya at the foot of an indigenous forest overlooking a waterhole. The camp’s squeaky green safari chic marries beautifully and sensitively with the natural highs of her surrounds in the wilderness zone of Ol Pejeta. Although located on the Equator, the camp is at an altitude of 6000 ft. Please note that mornings and evenings can be cold due to the influence of the mountain.

Situated at the foothills of Mount Kenya and the Aberdare Mountain Range, Ol Pejeta Conservancy is a gorgeous safari getaway that is home to the largest remaining collection of black rhinos in East Africa. You will check into Kicheche Laikipa Camp upon arrival before you join your knowledgeable ranger and head out on safari. Along the way, you will hope to spot lions pacing across the savanna and zebras gathering with warthogs and wildebeests around the shallow waterholes. Ol Pejeta Conservancy is a flourishing wildlife sanctuary that boasts some of the most tranquil and serene animal sighting opportunities.

Kicheche Laikipia Camp

Kicheche Laikipia Camp: 3 Nights

An eco-award-winning small luxurious tented camp nestled in the shadows of Mount Kenya at the foot of an indigenous forest overlooking a waterhole. The camp’s squeaky green safari chic marries beautifully and sensitively with the natural highs of her surrounds in the wilderness zone of Ol Pejeta. Kicheche Laikipia is an excellent camp offering good value for money and a superb wildlife experience. The spacious tents offer a good level of comfort, without being overly luxurious, and have small touches which make your stay all the more comfortable. The comfort of the tents is matched by the friendliness of the staff who will look after your every need. As with all the Kicheche camps, the level of guiding is excellent and the ambiance is warm and welcoming. Each of the six luxurious tents have plumbed en suite facilities with flush toilet, shower and double vanity, and a large L-shaped bedroom area with a dresser and comfortable seating. To the front of each is a verandah where guests are able to simply sit, relax and enjoy the views of the waterhole and plains beyond. There is also a spacious family tent with one double and two single beds, and a shared bathroom.

After breakfast, you will be transferred to your local airstrip onto your schedule flight to the famous Maasai mara Game Reserve. You will land at the Mara Naboisho Conservancy, you will be met and transferred to Kicheche Valley Naboisho with game drive enroute. Kicheche Valley, located in acacia woodlands in a secluded valley of the Naboisho Conservancy, is an intimate luxury tented camp. The six luxurious tents, built in a unique style incorporating high eco-standards, are set on platforms and provide the perfect base to see the stunning wildlife and wilderness.

The Maasai Mara National Reserve is arguably Kenya’s premier wildlife sanctuary, a staggering untouched natural park comprising sprawling emerald pastures, rugged rocky outcrops, and dense viridian forests. Furthermore, Masai Mara is home to the world’s ultimate wildlife spectacle, the Great Migration. Should you travel to Masai Mara during the appropriate time of year, you will have the fortune of witnessing this impressive natural display in which millions of wildebeest, gazelle, zebra, and other creatures sprint across the Serengeti towards the greener plains of Kenya while many predators seek kills during the chaos.

Kicheche Valley Naboisho

Kicheche Valley Naboisho: 3 Nights

Set in a gentle valley to the east of the excellent Mara Naboisho Conservancy area of the Maasai Mara in southwest Kenya, Kicheche Valley Camp, is a relatively simple little place, with guest accommodation in 6 tented rooms and providing a very good range of well-guided safari activities. No minimum age. The camp consists of six tents, ensuring the optimum personal touch in camp. The six luxurious tents, built in a unique style incorporating high eco-standards, are set on platforms. These fully insect-proof style tents are equipped with large beds, quality linen, bedside tables, desk, sofa, luggage racks and rugs. Bathrooms are en-suite and are equipped with a shower and flushing toilet, fixed shower and hot and cold and running water. Triple tents are available on request.

The large and spacious lounge tent and its veranda overlook a natural spring and is a really nice setting for the delicious meals. With its comfortable local furnishings and informative collection of reference books, it makes a delightful place to relax between game drives or other activities.

5am coffee, early morning game drive. Breakfast. You will thereafter be transferred to the airstrip for your maiden flight to Wilson airport Nairobi. Marking the end of another memorable tour. Lunch will be on own arrangements. An optional dayroom can be arranged depending on your desires and also your flight time. Therafter transfer to JKIA for your onward flight.
